Hello all, I just thought I would take a minute and explain a little about me.
I am a single mother who is raising a 6 year old girl. I am dating a guy (dave) for about 4 years now and hopfully getting married to him when the time is right. I live in MI but travel to Ohio often. I am 26 years old and I do have a twin. I love animals. I love them to much where if my boyfriend didnt keep an eye on me I would be a hoarder LOL. I do rescue dogs from the pound on death row. I take no donations because I am one women doing it out of my pocket just trying to help a dog when I have the room, but the problem is every pet that comes in stays because I take the worst ones or by the time they are ready for me to adopt out, they have seperation anxcitey when their away from me lol. I have 3 dogs ( 2 GSD & 1 lab), 2 cats and 13 chickens. I am a part time cleaning lady. I clean for my dad. He owns a developing Co. The reason I work part time is because I have to be off work @ 12:00 to pick up my daughter. She only goes a half a day this year. The reason I joined Daves Garden is to learn alot abot chickens and to grow a garden. I enjoy all the info. I never been on a website where people " investigate" the new people joining. I am told that I sounded like a fake or that im young. I didnt know there was a age group on here or that this website needs to be protected from unwanted people by investigating others. How much investigating can you do on someone that wants to learn about chickens. And If there are miss typed words then im sorry or if I sound immature some times. I never read or judge a person over the computer through typing. You wont get far and thats not a true invetigator. I go on different computers. As you guys know laptops are touchy. That explains the words misplaced. I am young to...I guess sense most people on here sound old and just on here raising chickens as a hobby. Now im sure im wrong about that guess but now do you see how silly that is trying to tell a persons pliving and personality over the computer? I try not to judge other through typing because it is not anough to go on to figure out a person. So I was really looking forward on coming to DG but now its really draining to come on here and reading topics with people trying to bully or are making assumptions. I found another website MyPetChicken. They are great they let people post their desires and Q & A. without questioning if it is a "fake". Im not mad so dont take this the worng way. Im just very surprized what someone can go through for just tring to find a little info about chicks. That what this website is for right?

Hi Lobee. I'm sorry you feel bad about coming on here. I think you started at a bad time when everyone was stressing about losing chicks and a little suspicious about how it was being handled by the hatchery. Everyone misspells and makes mistakes. I think Patchouli just noticed that sometimes you did it more than other times. Losing so many of the helpless animals that they had waited so long to have made people more suspicious than usual. Sometimes you sound very mature--which also confused people.
There are a lot of great websites out there, I'm glad you found one that fits your needs. Good luck with your chickens!

enjoy your chickens, pets, daughter, boyfriend dave [how cool is that?] and your part time job. there is a whole world wide web out there, with lots of chicken and pet lovers.
sometimes hard headed people clash with someone who is just trying to help others out and protect people's hurt hearts. it's just too bad that you are one of the few who didn't see fit to take my advice. lucky you didn't subscribe, so you aren't out the bucks...
just so you know, this AE outbreak was widespread throughout the United States and Canada. so whereever you go on the net, you might want to conisder how hurt someone is about their chicks and their flock if they got that disease from Murray McMurray Hatchery. don't jump on a soapbox if it might not hold your weight is the best advice i can ever give you.
and the only investigating someone can do on Dave's Garden is to go to a member page and see what is there, that is all.

My mom is ; ) She's not too young, my mom was diagnosed at 21 I believe. Besides, it was more a figure of speech than anything. Anyways, don't mean to offend (anymore than usual), sorry she took what I asked the wrong way, but I seriously stand by what I said, something was off.
and i stand corrected. and sincerely hope she finds a place she fits and feels comfortable...
TF, if she had subscribed, Dave's would have refunded any amount that was left. I asked that question before I joined because I would not have subscribed otherwise.
As far as the other, I, too, have had people chastise me for my views, but seeing as I am older, and have a very tough skin from other issues, I am able to withstand being dumped on for whatever reason and realize that there are people who relish the feeling that they are superior to others. Of course, this is just not so!! People are the same all over the world.
Of course to be called a fake is pretty drastic. And to have someone try to prove it is even worse. I have noticed that some people can't spell certain words whereas others have no trouble. Sometimes when we are especially tired or maybe not feeling well, some of us do the same thing. As for myself, I try to preview what I write so it comes out sounding correct. But even then, sometimes I still misspell something. And you do have to remember, she said she was only 26, and nowadays since the powers that be decided that spelling isn't important it isn't hard to do.
Well, Granny, get off the soapbox and let these good people get back to what they are doing.

Like I stated before, it's not just the spelling but the way in which it was written. I never stated I was superior to anyone. I was also not the only one to notice but was the only one to ask. If there is a next time I will try to not say anything, but because it appeared so black and white (the difference) I felt I should ask. I honestly believed that maybe someone else was using her account, but according to her that was not the case. I tried not to be rude when I asked, but I guess there was no real polite way to do it.
Patchouli, you came across as think you were superior in this case. I don't know how many others noticed that her style of posting was different, but I can say that I never did. As for the initial postings, apparently she didn't quite understand that her postings defending McMurray was hurting others. BUT!!! that is no reason to run her off the forum. And that is exactly what you did.
I have had problems with some people on here, and I just ignore them. As I stated, I have thick skin, and have been around long enough do that. Some people are sensitive to critism and questioning from others. But, as we all live in the same world, there is nowhere to run.

Alright got some pictures. I think pictures are always good. I also dont own a computer. So when I do get on a comp, I always am in a big hurry because im either on it @ my sisters house and their are 3 kids plus my one. So their always eger to get on the webkinz website and play games or im on @ my boyfriends house and I only take small relaxing breaks before im off doing house work. So that is why sometimes it looks butchered. Ok now here is....

I might have come across that way, but I never said I was superior. I didn't run her off the forum, I simply asked a question. I apologize if I came off as a donkey's behind, which according to you I have, but I didn't mean to hurt her feelings and since she is who she says she is I am sorry. You are right, people get tired and probably write different, my bad. Lobee, you have my humblest apologies. I DO mean that sincerely. I am an *@&, and I'm sorry. I have a huge mouth, and I'm very opinionated which can either work to my benefit, or in this case; make me look ridiculous. Sorry.

Northwest quadrant lower peninsula. It's about 72 miles north of Grand Rapids. In God's Country. We used to live in Detroit (and I MEAN Detroit), but when DH retired, we moved up here. We had been coming up here hunting for years, and this is where we wanted to be.
