Hello from sweltering NW FL

Hello to friends I know & friends I hope to know.

I've been a member here since 2003 (I think) A long time anyway. I've not been a paying subscriber until tonight, though. Thanks to my Garden Angel, I am finally a full-fledged member. :)
I live in the florida panhandle. It's already so hot my poor plants are begging for relief. I don't get to get out and work in the gardens as much as I'd like anymore due to the heat literally taking my breath away but I do try as often as I can.
I have three wonderful daughters,all grown & married with children of their own now. Six fabulous grandkids are my reward for all those years raising my girls :)
Well, I won't write a book here...just wanted to say hello.

I'm glad to finally be a subscriber. It was so frustrating reading one post and wondering what all the ones below said!

Hi. I'm a new member fron southwest Florida. We are finally getting some fairly regular PM showers, thank goodness, but it is still hot. Just remember to drink plenty of water when you garden. I ended up in the emergency room with dehydration after working all day in the sun.

You're sure to love it here at DG. There are so many great people here. They are always willing to share what they know about gardening.

It doesn't take long to get dehydrated in this heat. We've been getting some afternoon pop-up storms here for the past few days. It sure is nice to see some rain again.

Jump on the boards anywhere, everyone is very nice and ready to share their gardening experiences.
