I found these on my Maple tree what are they?

Does anyone know what these are? I am supposed to be taking this tree down but dont want to if I am going to be killing something I shouldnt.....there are a blue million of them on this maple.

This may be a better shot....my macro on this cheap camera is not good. They are tiny red, what looks to be eggs...

Thanks from me too! I learned something here. I have red maples but, fortunately, they've never been attacked by these little critters (yet). But it's nice to know in case they do appear on my trees. I'd have been having a panic attack too, LOL.
