I haven't seen rain in three weeks and we seem to be getting a nice soaking one for the moment. I could really use an inch or two overnight to get the soil stocked back up on water. http://www.wtoc.com/Global/category.asp?C=109459
Yaaaa, rain
i know!! i want to go run around in it (yes i still do that, and yes i'm aware that there is lightning).... but i have my last exam tomorrow so i'm "studying" now. boo.....
It's all the way up the coast! Such a gentle rain - kinda' chilly here with it - had to close the windows - but I bet it's even a "Rainy Night in Georgia". Ugh, sorry! But it's the best rain we can have for lawns and plants.
Praise be!! We even got a liitle bit here on Johns Island! Not enough though...maybe 2/10ths...better than nothing!
Still raining here. Tappering off now to a nice slow rain. Hope it keeps going for a while.
hmm we got like 5 minutes worth here. good for you all
It rained around here for quite a few hours but, except for about 5 minutes, it was very gentle. We didn't get that much but it is all appreciated - very much.
Have you all seen the new WunderMap on wunderground.com? If you are on the page for your zip code there is a menu directly under the radar map and WunderMap is the second listing. It is cool and you can watch the weather coming (or going) as it gets updated often.
I use the WTOC site. They give doppler radar with hour animation. Just recently they upgraded so you can zoom in on your area.
Only good for you folks in the low country.
well, its still raining... almost a drizzle last time i checked, but the drops are bigger..... thats how it looks on the island
Check out the wundermap, it is really unique. Wunderground has animated doppler radar too but this new feature shows how close and how strong the storm is to your specific neighborhood.
There is no rain showing in this image, except for some moisture offshore but when it is raining you can see how hard and exactly where it is.

BTW, I dug a bit this morning to see how far the rain penetrated - a whopping 1/4". Everything below that was pure dust.

I'll give that a try.
I got a good soaking. Ground still wet right now.
Everything was muddy in your area; I just came from a meeting over there and just had to stop at the Bluffton Farmer's Market on my way home.
Picked up some neat Basil the variety is Serrata (or serata,) it is beautiful and very fragrant.
Had a wonderful surprise this morning---we got 7/10ths of an inch of rain last night! Plants/grass responding already...
Hey we got a great soaking Wed. afternoon - I actually was able to work a shower in at work standing outside with a bar of soap....it rained hard and was windy so I got to play pick up the plants that all fell over the rest of the day LOL but it was a welcome relief not to have to run around with a watering hose all afternoon at work...but the craziest folks come out when its pouring down rain...one lady..bless her heart...wanted to talk about drought tolerant plants while we stood out in the pouring rain..so glad SHE had an umbrella! LOL
it always rains when i go to nurseries
