Bulb question: Brodiaea/Tritelia & Anemone deCaen

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I'm thinking of buying some of these on a spring clearance sale. I am in zone 6. Don't these normally get planted in fall? Or can they be planted spring or fall?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

bren, I bought some last year and they did squat. of course, I didn't know what I was doing.....

Thx for the reply Nery. Did you plant them in Spring or Fall?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I believe it was late spring. maybe it was too hot for them.

Ok......I'll see what others say and do a bit more research before I buy. Thx

I do a lot of Tritelia's--they are fall planted here and like a drier location (esp in summer)--but despite popular belief, they can take some summer moisture and always return for me

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Hmmmmm I was thinking these are fall planted. Thx for the reply.

Tritelia's are winter growing, early spring blooming, summer dormant here. They have all been dormant since late April for me.
