Thanks you so much, that was so thoughtful. I never think to look on line. I found a place that may haave sand, No luck with gravel yet, tho I did send an email to the closest place in CT. With gas prices today, distance is a factor. Did you just look under sand and gravel?

Find an outfit that does construction and has trucking. If they have the gravel pits, you might be able to take a bucket and go there with your car or truck and shovel a bucket or two. Don't for get to take a shovel and bucket if you get the OK.

Or even the town barn - the one that the road crews use. They usually have sand and/or gravel that they use in road 'repair'. Sometimes you can even have it for free. I know that some towns around here allow for free pick up of sand and gravel.

Concrete making firms have sand. All big box stores have two or more selections. I use Masonery Sand for medium mixes because it has sharp edges and holds together better. Playsand is round beads and will not hold a firm surface.
Many nursery outlets have sand in our area.
