I'm a bit behind here, so all you northerners, have you pinched your tips lately? Did you put down leaves and cuttings this spring? remember this is the best season to do all this stuff?
have you pinched your tips lately?
You realize how guilty this makes me feel, right? ;o) Mine desperately need to be pinched. They're way leggy, having gotten no light while I was gone. Sigh...Guess I need to go get busy... LOL
well that means you can root all the tips :D
I have a renewed interest in pinching, knowing that pinching twice early on could result in Achimenes looking like this. http://flickr.com/photos/gesneriads/1473681522/in/set-72157594167523070/

Hey Key, thanks for the reminder. And I think my Achimenes might need more light, they're kind of leggy and only have a few blooms. And you're right about this being the season for putting down leaves. I put down some leaves in the Fall and some of them have still not sent up babies, but some of the leaves I put down just as recent as April are already showing ears. How strange.
I might have to try Achimenes for the first time as everyone seems to be growing them. I have seen awesome pictures in bloom.
