moving clematis question

Campobello, SC(Zone 7a)

I planted 2 clematis about a month ago (from Lowe's) and now I'm moving. One is just now blooming and the other has buds and is ready to bloom and they are probably 3 ft high. I figure I'm going to have to cut them back from where they've wrapped around the fence I planted them against. Do I pot them up now or leave them in the ground as long as possible so they are only in a pot for a short time? We expect to be moving by the 3rd week of June. Also, any advice on moving them would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I would go ahead and enjoy your blooms and then prune them down & pot them up with some bonemeal in a one-gallon pot..remembering to keep them moist...Jeanne

my clematis are very hardy as I have moved 3 times and took mine with me I even have one in a pot that I left outside last winter and it survived so I wouldn't worry about potting yours up and moving with it.

Thanks Fields! I watered them this morning and the one is all the way up the fence already. 4ft chainlink. I'm surprised how fast they've grown.
