Buds on H davidcummingii

North Central, ID(Zone 6a)

So, this new cutting came with 3 peduncles putting on buds. One has really
taken off and should open..... soon ?
BTW, this cutting is still unrooted. I didn't know an unrooted cutting could
or would bloom ?

How pretty!!! Congratulations, I really like this hoya.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Often a plant will produce flowers in 'survival mode'...totally common and not a danger to the cutting. DC is one of the neatest small hoyas!!!!

Cool !! I've been enjoying watching these buds.
And IF they make it to actually bloom, it will be
my first ever Hoya flowers !!

I will post pics of the buds the day I received the cutting
up til now......just cause I think it's interesting to
see the progression.

Hope to soon be doing a hoya happy dance.

My guess is June 2. You can then post in June Blooms ^_^
Be patient. My pubicalyx took two weeks to open.

I'm trying to post picture from photobucket. Can't seem to get the hang of it. Help!!!!!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I think I got it. I sure hope so. This little bundle took two weeks to open. I think it is pubicalyx 'Pink Silver'. I received it about seven years ago in a trade. This is the first time it has bloomed. Only one peduncle. But I'm happy.

Paula, that is soo cool! I had no idea a hoya would bloom without being rooted! Can't wait to see the bloom opened ... neat looking hoya.

Imadigger: That is an Awesome bloom on your Pink Silver. It looks like it has fuzz! So pretty! I have one I received in a trade last fall that is labeled Pink Silver ... sure hope it looks like that!

Well I wish I could take credit for this one. It was in bud when I
received it as a cutting. I'll be doubly excited when one of my
others flowers that I've been growing for awhile !! ^_^

Hey sis!! I finally figured out how to work some things here at DG. Now I get to see your cute blooms again. Wanted you to know I am 'hooked in' to the Hoya forum now. Thanks for the gift.
Beautiful little flowers!!

North Central, ID(Zone 6a)

Hey Liz ! This forum is really great, glad you like it. ^_^

When I asked my son what these blooms smelled like he said
" like buttery popcorn ". And I agree !
Anyone else notice any scent on theirs ??

Paula

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Yes...buttery popcorn. There are quite a few hoyas that get that rich fattening fragrance.....

(Zone 1)

My ds-70 is blooming like crazy right now and it really smells like butter.
