DD found a small (about the size of my palm - I have smallish hands) bird nest in one of our pine trees; she didn't recognize the bird. The nest has four tiny blue speckled eggs, and they look just like the malted candies you can get at Easter - probably even smaller.
I'll try to get a photo later.
Help me ID the bird that belongs to this nest
you might want to describe the nest too. What type of material is it made out of, does it have mud, grass, hair, moss, etc.
I didn't get a real close look at it, but will try to do so tomorrow and get a photo, too. It seemed to be mostly dried grass and branch material from where I was standing, and the nesting area appeared to be about an inch and a half across - maybe less.
