Banana has babies!

I thought my banana was doing poorly (leaves are tattered now) so I was gonna replant it. When I removed the mulch I found 2 pups!!!
She's happy, yes?
If i plant something to help shelter her leaves will she stop getting rips?

I thought their lower leaves always looked like that!

I dont know, ive never had one before lol. But hubby has taken a real liking to her and he's like. "it's dying!!"
I know it isn't but I'd like to keep her leaves from shredding. Too much wind I guess so I'm going to make a shelter out of fast growing trees for it.
