Help with Oxalis triangularis?

Joey in Conroe, TX(Zone 8b)

I have a few clumps of this planted in bright shade and them some back deeper in the shade. All seems to be afflicted the same way. I also have some in a pot that gets only morning sun. It looks great! Any ideas on what's got into my purple shamrocks? I really wanted these to cover the feet of some of my gingers.

Have you been spraying with anything? Mine look like that whenever they get sprayed with something, no matter how mild it may be. They get all spotty looking but they eventually clean themselves back up.

No, not a thing. Just water...

Do they die back when it gets really hot? Maybe it's the time of year for them to rest.

I was thinking that, but the ones in the pot are looking good. If its some sort of disease I don't want to move my remaining ones out there. Nothing else in the bed seems to be affected though. I'm stumped

Since those grow from bulbs, you might want to also post your question in the bulb forum. They might have some more insights.

Have you had a lot of rain? Mine and the ones I gave a friend did that last year when we actually had rain. They came back stronger than ever when the soil dried out some and are doing great this spring. So, it might be that they have received too much water.

Have you had a lot of rain? Mine and the ones I gave a friend did that last year when we actually had rain and a lot of it. They came back stronger than ever when the soil dried out some and are doing great this spring. They never really died back. So, it might be that they have received too much water. The soil in the in the pot may be drying out faster. Are you watering them a lot?

LOL no we have actually had very little rain. I do water that bed at least once a week, but gets pretty dry there as my soil is sandy and it is under a stand of oaks and pines. I was worried it might be too dry.

The same thing happens to mine this time of year. I thought it was just dying off for the summer. I will look forward to some answers too.

Mine do the same thing and wonder if the chemicals in the water do it. They seem to look great early in the spring before the sprinklers come on and then....the pitiful leaves.
