Hi , I have been doing some posting over at both the southwest forum and the wildlife gardening forum . Someone , who posts under the name Mrs-Ed asked me to post over here about what I am doing . Briefly I live in a rural part of Arizona , have 4 acres that I have been trying to turn into bird habitat . I have built burrows for burrowing owls , just recently had a visit from a raptor recue group who tells me I can/will be allowed to host a pair of barn owls once I build the/a nest site for them . Road runners , sap suckers , various finches and others have discovered my place which was rater bare when I started ;

Here is a few other posts that I have done so I do not have to duplicate what I have already said ;

Any suggestions on how to further enhance my project I would be glad to hear . I will be back to see comments on what you have to say .

I also took the liberty of reposting a picture from BennysPlace post so we could quickly see the owl burrowing nests.
VERY cool.
Oh that Mrs. Ed is a very busy lady isn't she???
Thanks for posting them over here!
Well Nanny, I'm NOSY at least, if not busy. Maybe busy-body. Lonediver, I can't wait to see the garage attic nesting area!
You know we love you Marna...it wouldn't be the same without you here!
Well Mrs_Ed , sometimes these things such as the barn owl project take a little bit of time . If you looked at the link of what this place looked like 3 years ago , trust me it will happen . Probably sooner than later . But for some strange reason my wife has a list of honey-do's for me to do around the house . She seems to have this strange notion that I should put in some chores around the house improving living quarters . I keep reminding her that it was her mandate that I turn this place green . I think that I am getting it accomplished . Wierd thing about women is that theres no pleasin' em' .
I expect that I likely will have the barn owls in residence in less than a year though .
I got home this evening to discover that I now have three baby burrowing owl chicks at my habitat .
Thats great. Congratulations!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!! Lucky you!
yay!!!! Pictures please, (when possible).
