Large-Flowered Climbing Rose 'Stairway to Heaven'
Rosa

This is a shot I entered in the DG photo contest. It shows what happens when you don't prune off the lower branches.

Thanks! Jeanne I should have said I entered it in 2007. It did get a 3rd runner up I think. All competions depend a lot on who votes and how many friends you have voting etc. I don't take too much stock in competition. But it was fun anyhow. ; ) I just noticed that nobody had put any photos of this rose in our data base.

Thanks but I have just been into photography for so long and always have a camera with me so those kind of shots do happen. That one was totally nature as I was trying to capture a rainstorm in the canyon behind the houses, then the light just went to gold. I was looking east and the sun was setting in the west. This rose did not grow nearly as quickly as they said it would. But I usually have really good luck with bare root roses. I planted 3 new Disneylands this Feb. and they are covered with leaves and blooms now. Not real tall but still look great. I think it depends on the rose?

Mine was bareroot as well and had been the slowest of any bareroot I've ever planted..congrats on your "Nature shot"..truly stunning...Jeanne
