The temp. had been in the high 90s, so I decided to go to the Klamath Basin for a couple of days. By the time I got to Indian Tom Lake it was overcast and rainy. Plenty of birds, just poor light for photographing. I first thought I'd post only the 7 new birds I saw, but then I thought that most of the people that view this thread will never get a chance to visit the Basin, so I decided to do a rough chronological posting so that viewers can get an idea of what a great birding area this is. Doing it this way means that some species will be posted more than once and it takes a lot of pics (59 if my count is right). This tour only covers about half of the area that's good for birding and a lot of the birds are migrants and are here today and gone tomorrow. The time of the year is a big deciding factor on the the number and species of birds that can be seen. I saw some birds that aren't included here because I couldn't I.D. them ( resin I.D.ed some for me, but on some the photos didn't give enough detail for an I.D.) The tour starts Monday afternoon at Indian Tom Lake (a small lake just West of the Lower Klamath Lake.
