My Mini Barred Plymouth Rock

We have talked about Nemo a time or two before, but he/she just is not growing.. She is thriving ok.. doesn't seem to be lacking in anything other than overall size. She was hatched April 7th so just at 6 weeks old, 1/4 of the size of the regular chickens and at least half the size of the silkies.. named Nemo because her wings are about half the length of regular wings, of course respectivly per body size.

I did order 1 regular (not bantum) Barred Plymouth Rock and Nemo is the only Barred Plymouth Rock I received... so .. is she just ...hmmm not right... or a perfect bantum...lol, whatever she is.. shes a cute little button.. and everytime I look at those little legs all I think of is "elf food"

What a little cutie. With Barred Rocks I believe he's have more white and she's have more black feathering.

Well this little skweeky squeely sound came out of Nemo's mouth this morning... after an hour of practice... and my laughter.. I am sure the other girls were laughing too, dh didn't want to go to work it was so much fun watching and seeing where this was going... anyway..

We finally got a respectable crow out of the little guy this morning... still chuckling everytime I thing about it..
Sounded kind of like someone was squeezing his manlies and holding his beak shut all at the same time... lol I kept thinking poor thing should just fall over and die now.. I could never walk the streets of the chicken hood agian with a crow like that..

Anyway.. alls well that ends well and little Nemo is still on the ground floor (including the girls) of the pecking order... quit laughing!!! He is still just a bit bigger than hand size.

ROTFLMBO!!! I have full size PBRs here doing the same thing, but i bet they don't sound near as pitiful!

btw, your toy idea is a flop so far. those little chicks of mine are scared to death of the monster i hung in their pen...

Mine were afraid of it too at first. But now they view it with contempt! But I didn't hang it--I put it down on the floor like a sea anenome.

I put mine on the floor too, but I have been thinking of hanging it.. maybe I better not..

well, i came home from the water trip to find it had been yanked down, so SOME BODY got brave! but came home from the feed trip and it still is in the same spot. SOME BODY chickened out ^_^

btw, thought i was being green/wise to not use AC and drive 5 mph under the speed limit. but the forecast was for 91, not 100 degrees!!!
