Are they crazy

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I was going to order a pack of seeds that cost $1.50 and they wanted $4.50 for postage.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Where were you ordering from?

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

There were several places I checked.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

That is kinda crazy.

One was Trade Winds Fruit.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

The only form of protest is to not order them and tell them why.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I won't be buying anything from them or any of the ones like them.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

wow,that is crazy.

I had one nice supplier that called to tell me I could ship two plants in the box at no additional postage. That was nice. Anymore they nearly all have flat rate boxes or bubble packs I suspect to save administrative labor.

I ship two single packs of pumpkin seed and two sheets of instructions in a small bubble pack for two first class stamps anyplace in the USA. excepting territories.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Some places are even higher... I don't remember which ones, but this winter when I was doing seed catalogs I remember some "minimum" shipping charges of $6 or more.

I do a lot of trading, LOL. I also like "group purchases" where shipping charges can be distributed among participants. :-)

NORTH CENTRAL, PA(Zone 5a)

Yes those shipping and handling charges are a hoot. They are like me saying I am just a pure and simple guy........1% pure. They are like milk shrinking into a three quart bottle for a gallon price. If that has not yet happened it will. They are like the service charge game the banks play. One recently charged me a $5.00 service charge for honoring an unsigned check I sent to someone. I screemed holy murder and got it back for fifty bucks of my valued time.
