I cannot seem to locate Betty Corning in my area. However that won't stop me for looking for other clematis beauties.....what do you think of the Hagley Hybrid mixed in with the Etoile Violette? If you have other ideas for pruning group 3 bring them on please....
I was thinking of John Huxtable for the other post on the other side - what do you think? Too many different colours on the pergola? Eventually I would mix in something else with John H too....

INHO..the colours are too close for a contrast..but this is personal taste hon and you should plant colours together that are pleasing TO your eyes...As far as whites go "Huldine" and "John Huxtable" are my two favourites...'Huldine" is more vigorous than "JH"

OMG I want huldine so baaaaaaad but I haven't seen her around here anywhere!!! Trust me I have been looking - I would snatch that one up in a second!!! Same for Ernest Markham....however I am going to a new nursery I haven't been to as of yet so I am hoping they have something interesting for me!!

Jeanne - I found one today to plant on the opposite post!!! I got Ville de Lyon!!! OMG she looks so pretty in the photo's I have seen! Do you have this one??? I think I am also going to get John Huxtable but now I am not sure if I should plant it with Etoile Violette or my new Ville de Lyon??? Ahhh decisions decisions!!!
Congrats!!..I have two "Ville de Lyons"...I love her just that much that one isn't enough..If it was me..I would plant "John Huxtable" with Etoile Violette for a good contrast...Here is my "Ville de Lyon"..she is just a baby tho..Planted her last year...Jeanne
