This morning we tried like crazy to reach Cackle Hatchery by phone but all we got was a busy signal. Next we placed the order via their web page. The business day is over and there has been no response from them.
Has anyone dealt with them before? Is this normal for them? We were worried that they did not have the chicks we wanted (Welsummers and Buttercups).

I would try and contact them tomorrow by phone. I can't ever seem to order from Ideal online, it never works and I end up calling them. Hopefully someone from Cackle will be able to take your call then.
Keep trying to phone them. Maybe there phone lines are out right now and their internet too. You know how things go, somedays everything seems to break down at once.
Patchouli, I had no problem ordering from Ideal online and they sent prompt replies. Strange how things work sometimes. What part of MO is Foley? I have in-laws near Lake of the Ozarks.
I called after hours and got their answering machine so their # does work. I wasn't able to leave a message on it cause it was full. Seems many other people are trying to reach them too. They had a message saying that their phones were very busy right now. I can understand that but if you accept orders via the internet someone should be checking them and acknowledging them daily. Nothing in my email this morning either.

Maybe their hatchery is small and they don't have many operators like Murray or Ideal, I don't know. You could try a different hatchery. Smedge, Foley is North near the Missisippi, about 45 minutes from St. Louis. My father lives in the Ozarks though, it's very beautiful down there!
Patch do you have a web page for them? Google didn't know them by Smedge.

No, LOL! Smedge was the person that posted before you. I was telling him/her where Foley is : ) No, I would talk to Murray or Ideal, or etc. I know that they are starting to run out of rare chicks now.

Ideal is the one I'm dealing with trying to straighten out what chicks I actually got in my order from them.
McM is the one with that problem this spring so I haven't tried to deal with them this year.
