Fort Worth Native Plant Society Plant Sale Sturday 5-24-08
I will try to make it. Do the plants go quickly?
I am not sure Anna, it is our first sale, but most sales go pretty fast, also better choices if you go early.
Looking forward to seeing you.
Josephine.
I could use some of those plants. Are the prices good?
They are a little below average, I would say, but not a high as Redenta's.
Josephine--
Do ya'll have a list of plants offered on the website, maybe a pdf file? I'd like to send a friend over there for me, but she won't go unless I give her a list of what I want. I'd like to support the cause if possible and I'd be looking mainly for those west Tx salvia's that I don't already have.
Debbie
Hello Debbie, I hope this link works,
http://www.npsot.org/NorthCentralTexas/
go there and click on( native plants list.)
Thank you for helping.
Josephine.
Doggonit!! I have to work! Wonder if I can talk the very DH into going in my place. Hmmmm.....
thanks Josephine--link works great
Woohoo! I traded shifts with my boss, so I'll be able to go! I've already told DH to get his shopping shoes ready! LOL
Great Stephanie, we will be there at the front showing pictures of the plants and answering questions, looking forward to seeing you.
Josephine.
I'll be looking for you, Josephine!
Hello Everyone, we had a very successful plant sale with lots of people attending.
I sold 75 plants which I donated and there were hundreds from the other members.
I got to see Sheila, Anna, and T.J. but I didn't see Stephanie, did I miss you somehow?
Josephine.
No, you didn't miss me. I didn't get to go. DH, who fell and fractured 2 vertebrae last fall started PT this past week. He woke up with muscle spasms and cramps in his back and legs, so I had to stay home with him. Not the way I wanted to spend my morning!!
I am sorry, I hope your husband gets better soon.
Thank you, Josephine. He's on the road to recovery, but it's the slow road. It certainly is putting a cramp in my gardening style as he's usually the one to do all my bed preparations and help with the weeding and stuff! We're hoping by the end of the summer he's good as new so we can work on a couple of projects for next spring.
It was well stocked and well organized. I got several nice plants and will make sure to go again next year.
FYI for those that didn't go. Frank was at the computer showing off what the blooms would look like to anyone who asked. Very smart.
Thank you Sheila, I think the computer really helped, and people appreciated it.
TJ here on my mom's PC! The plant sale was very well organized and Josephine and Frank were SO helpful. I agree that the computer was a great idea, one pic of the Carolina Phlox and I was sold! Thanks Josephine & Frank!!!
You are welcome T.J. I am glad you had a good time.
I was so excited that I found white avens. This was the first question I posted on DG, wondering where I could find it. Of course, Frostweed answered, explaining it was found at one of the nature parks. I had given up trying to find it.
I also got Carolina phlox. Luckily it was a cooler day, so I planted all.
That is great Anna, I am glad you found what you were looking for, it was great to see you too.
Josephine.
Glad the sale was a success! I have several things I want but will get them at the Wildscape's sale in the fall.
Sandy and I were out at Fort Worth Prairie Park with Jarid Manos, along with Marilyn and several other Master Naturalists and others. It was beautiful but WOW it was way too hot for that excursion. I think we owe a lot of thanks to our ancestors for being those early pioneers so we didn't have to!
Yes, as the song goes " Oh beautiful for pilgrims feet, whose stern impassioned stress, a thoroughfair for freedom beat across the wilderness "
