CLOSED: Wanted: Spearmint cutting

Seneca, MO(Zone 5b)

I am having a hard time with my spearmint seeds, so it has been suggested that I try cuttings! I am learning that spearmint is slow (if ever) to germinate.

I have (cuttings):
Peppermint
Rosemary
Sage (kitchen, garden)
Horehound
Patchouli (although not sure about doing cuttings)
Pothos (currently rooting in soil)
feverfew
Grosso lavender

Possibly more, dmail if interested in trade. :)

I should have a plant for you, let me check tonight :)

Enya, great! I will wait to hear back. :)

I have two varieties of spearmint, both are considered invasive by some. I don't, as I use all I can get. To dry or make tea or jelly. One has smooth leaves the other has fuzzy leaves, which are you after? Or would you like both? I just dug these and placed in a pot so I could get a better picture. I shoud add that my son in law loves it for mojo drinks he makes in the blender.

Picture two showing detail of leaves.

I would send plants not cuttings as I have enough to share.

Since mittsy has the plants already ready, you two should go ahead and trade.
I don't need a trade and it would save me a trip to post office :)

Ok, Enya thanks!

I believe it's the fuzzier of the two. :)

How would you like to have it sent, padded bag or box, first class mail or priority?

I'll check your tradelist to ss what you have, and get back to you.

Is there a secret to growing spearmint, any mint, from seeds? I am having no luck...and I thought I was pretty good at growing things. Any suggestions? I just wondered anything mint I have tried...just laughs and rolls over and crocks. Some things are meant to be bought maybe. ;~0

Moofiepoo - I wish I could be of help, but I had the same problem! I am sure there is some secret to it, but so far I don't know what it is. I have even recently tried Superthrive and still no results. I have not given up on mine, so I will let you know if anything changes and what caused the change. Good luck and if all else fails, I will send you a cutting from the ones I am being sent if you would like.
