What do I do? I really prefer not to use chemicals, what eats them? Toads? There are a lot of them in my yard..we even had one that hopped into the kitchen. (DH caught it, and put it outside)
Potato Beetles, they are Every Where!
I have a lot of beetles too, the little striped ones, they have been doing a job on some plants, bur so far no big damage.
One insecticide that is considered safe to people is Bacillus thuringiensis, BT

but i am afraid of any kind of insecticide.
If they are doing a lot of damage you might try a garlic and hot pepper spray, you can't go wrong with that.

I have had a lot of those this year. Can't say I ever noticed more than a few before, so I don't know why there are so many this year.
I also have big white fuzzy caterpillars eating everything in sight. They resemble the web worms that were so bad last year, only bigger. We also haven't had any webs yet, so I don't think they're web worms. Anyone know what they are?
I think they are Potato Beetle Larva...what do you think?
