Hello from Tiny Delaware! (Z7)

Hi gardeners! I'm married with a 7 year old son and have been gardening for 11 years now seriously. I work full time for a major Medical Center and kickbox three nights per week which doesn't leave that much time for gardening. I limit myself to the beds I currently have and when a new plant strikes my fancy an underachiever has to go. I'm plagued by spidermites every year and none of the conventional methods of eradication work here. My favorite flowers are lilies (Orientals, Asiatics, LA hybrids, Trumpets, Species and Orienpets)and most of my flowers (baby's breath, zinnias, dahlias, cosmos, liatris, coneflowers and many others)are used for cut flower arrangements. The vegetable garden is also a favorite of mine. My husband and I grow tomatoes, peppers, garlic, onions, peas, cukes and sometimes beans, radishes and carrots. I enjoy swimming and bicycle riding also. Nice to meet you all...:)

Nice meeting you, Cindi and welcome to Dave's Garden. Glad that you have joined this wonderful gardening family we have here.

Welcome Cindi--
Did you try Safer brand insecticidal soap for the spider mites?...it worked for me this year.

Welcome to DG, Cindi! By the way, what USDA zone are you in? (I know some people are a little cautious about putting their city/state info on their DG home page, but knowing someone's zone sure helps when giving advice on plants, pests, etc.)

Hope you enjoy "gardening" here!

Thank you everyone for the nice warm welcome!

I'm zone 7, go vols, and will try and include that in any gardening posts.

No Scott, never tried Safers. I'd need a few 55 gallon drums of the stuff I'm afraid....:(

Hi, Cindi! I just now noticed you had put your zone in the title of your thread :) You can include it in your personal info (where you put in your name and all), so you don't have to remember to put it in each thread you start :)

Glad to have you here!
