Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

Yea! My hard-drive is fixed-lost everything but at least I'm up and running again! Missed everyone!!

This has been a busy week! Last friday, I got my 2 female pekin ducklings; Saturday, I got 3 little piggies, and Sunday, the litter of bunnies was finally born.

Here's the pics!

How old are your ducklings? Mine are a monh old . I may be asking you some questions , like what are the kind that turn solid white ,but now are almost black ?

Very cute little piggys too .

Thanks!

I've had them for 6 days and I think they were a couple of days old when I picked them up at the feed store. I'm not sure about the ones who start off black and turn solid white. Mine are pekins which start yellow and turn white.

We have a coop for the piggies but they choose to sleep outside in the hay! Their pen is last years garden and we put hay from our pastures in between the rows to keep out the weeds. They are having a grand ol time rooting through-there are worms galore under the hay!

Hubby had a pet pig when he was young, they fed him Arnald ,dirty trick imo!Told him they sold it , Farm life can be hard sometimes I guess.

He said pigs are very smart and freindly .And i bet those in the hay are too .

Such an adorable bunch.
I like the ducks, so cute. We had ducks when I was a kid.

The mother rabbit will pull her hair out before the babies are born to make a nicely insulated nest for them. We put in some straw which she arranges how she likes then she places the hair on top of the straw. When the babies are born, they have no fur at all and they stay very warm inside of her nest. They are all black expect one is a very light tan/brown. They're eyes are still closed!
TF, I think you can tell by venting. When I ordered mine from the feedstore, I requested two females. They put purple marks on their heads so we'd know they were the girls. I just love them!! I have them in the house right now. I've been doing as someone had suggested in another thread about holding them close to your chest, covering their heads and breathing lightly on them. Wasn't sure it would work but when I let them onto the floor they come running back to me!

wow they pull out there own fur owch

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

I think they pull out the downy hair close to their body on their chest and belly. I've never seen any bare patches on any of my rabbits. Boy talk about your kids making you pull your hair out! lol! Sorry couldn't resist!!
