I am planting large raised boxes for my sons school. they are made of pressure treated wood so we can't plant any thing to eat in them but I want them to be lush, spilling over , scented and beautiful . they are about 6' x 5' and are side by side. any suggestions ?

How tall are they? I would suggest zinnias for bright colors (Part to full sun), they grow quickly and come in tall or dwarf kinds. As the blooms fade the children could help by cutting off the spent bloom, then they will put out more flowers. Sweet alyssum smells wonderful and will spill over the edge, also very easy to grow.
I'd love to see pictures of the beds, now and later!
Sounds like such fun!
Kids always love sunflowers and then they can harvest the seeds and eat them or make sunflower seeds for birds.
If you could incorporate lambs ears, children love the softness of the leaves.
