Wanted: Azolla

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Anyone have a ziplock baggie of azolla they can part with for shipping?

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

It hasn't started growing here yet, but will as it warms up. I"ll have plenty

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'll prolly send you a message if I don't get any.
Thanks sooo much!!

I thought mine would overwinter here..but it died?
Or will it come back later?

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

it comes back from seed, it gets so dense here I have to skim it off the pond to keep it from smothering out oxygen. what do you do with it...feed fish?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I use it in my ponds and as compost and fish food yea.
When does it normally start to come back?

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

starts growing as the weather heats up

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ohh..Im still thinking I live in Florida sometimes lol.
Expect things to grow like they did there. LOL

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

are you going to have TB iris to trade this summer?....I"ll have a few

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'll maybe have some yea. Not the ones I just got though, the babies are already spoken for for a while. "mum, sister,BFF,grams, aunt" LOL

I do have sweet iris that are lavender and smell like grape soda though. And some flags.

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

I have those and they are lovely....was hoping maybe you'd have something I didn't..I always check.....maybe someone will do an iris co-op

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awe Im sorry. :-(

Why don't you start a co-op?

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

usually the co-ops ae best when worked with someone closely associated with a grower..... Langr & Weggy had one last year, the prices and selections were good...thru Hank's.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh, I wouldn't know because I've never done or been a part of one lol.
Oh but it sounds so nice though.

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

I am looking everyday to see if azolla has sprouted....not yet

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Guys, I just went to plant files and looked up azolla. It says that it's illegal to ship this stuff interstate. That's assuming that I looked up the right azolla.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Even to somewhere like MA, where it will freeze out every winter?
