Sadie is the sweetest girl... she gets along with all people, my cats, and Mish, and has fit into our family seamlessly except for one thing - she HATES other dogs. We are trying to socialize her occasionally with other dogs, but she needs to be on a gentle leader or else she growls. We have tried to introduce her to my brother's basset several times, and she just growls and goes for her - pulled DBF almost right of his feet and through the fence to get to her at my mom's house.
We simply can't let her near other dogs without the leader because she is so aggressive - which is weird because she plays with the neighbor dog (a boxer boy) through our fence and loves Mish to pieces (although she is definitely alpha).
Anyone have any experience with this and can you give me some suggestions to try before I go for professional help?
