How long do eggs keep once you put them in the fridge?

Utica, MI

Here is another question, Once I collect the eggs and do what I need to do to get them ready to sell, how long do they keep? I know the factories keep the eggs for 60 days before even selling them to the supermarkets then the household keeps them about a month. So does that mean you can keep eggs for 3 months before them rottoning and do I include a experation date or just tell them how long they should be good?

Ok well sense no one answered on what I was wondering....could someone give me a name of a website or book where I can find out the info. I read a lot of books and websites and I didnt find anything. I know how to tell if an egg is bad by putting it in a bowl of water but I was wondering what to do with my customers and the experation dates.

I am sorry no one has answered this for you. this is the best advice I have: Eggs have a 'sell by' date that is one month from the date they are packaged. You can tell this by looking at any carton. The eggs are good for another 3-5 weeks (according to the USDA website). While some eggs can take a while to make it to the packaging stage, the majority are packaged within 3 days. This means (that according to the USDA) eggs will be good for 2 months from the date they are layed as long as they are kept cold. While I know many will argue this I dont think you need to tell people 3-4 months. Most all normal people will use all their eggs within 2 months. I hope this helps.

Lobee, there are a lot of sites that discuss this--try Googling: egg storage expiration date. My eggs seem to keep almost indefinitely once they are refrigerated....but they decrease in quality.
