A friend of mine has a Aztec Gold I believe and I fell in love with the smell she will give me the plant or a cutting. I have Puu Kahea, Wilder and slaughterhouse Pink and a whole bunch of the local pinks. I need to increase my collection with some great smelling ones.
Which ones are the best smelling and strongest ?

Which are the best smelling Plumeria
Gold Coast Peach (from Oz) is one of my top 5 for fragrance--like one of those floral scented soaps with a hint of cinnamon--outstanding!
My top ones for fragrance so far are Singapore, Celadine, Vera Cruz Lutica, Barry's Orange Pink, Dwarf Singapore White, Kimo, Lemon Yellow, Pacific Pearl, Bali Whirl, and Grove Farm.
Here is a list that I compiled that may help you with your decision: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/687548/

Thanks that is a start. Just about everything I try to plant is very fragrant. Kind of disappointed in the local pinks. Very light rose smell. They do like it here though and bloom their heads off. Maybe they will get stronger as the year progresses.
The peach smelling one my friend has 1 single flower in my shirt pocket all day and everyone could smell the peach kind of dreamy. LOL Any preferred vendors ??

Florida Colors Nursery is my plumeria nursery of choice: http://www.floridacolors.com/ Their prices are very reasonable, and their reputation is excellent. Most of my collection was purchased from them.
Sorry to hear about your local pinks. We have Key West Pink and Maimi rose and both are great. Miami Rose more spicy and Key West more fruity. I guess I kind of look over those as they are pretty common here.

I really appreciate the help and the links. Floridacolors looks like a great choice. It is so nice to always have something good smelling blooming. I try to plant items for 1) hardiness 2) fragrance. I am not particular about color. If it lives and smells good I am happy.
Thanks again
Jim
Jim, I plant for the same reasons pretty much. I second Hetty's suggestion about calling. Carol will answer the phone probably, and she is great.
luc and carol are great! i call now just to say hi, oh yeah, and to order a plumie now and then.
