IS THIS BUD EVER GOING TO BLOOM??

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

Ok, this is frustrating - I swear I have been hoya-pregnant with this bud of cv Iris Marie for 4 years!! Ok, so maybe in my frustration I've exagerated, but, I swear it has been a month! It LOOKS like it's about to burst, but it has looked like this for over a week! Will this bud ever bloom???

Oh well, I guess while I wait - and wait, and wait - I'll go into our little itty bitty town and watch Matt Damon filming the movie "The Informant" (a true story that happened right here in central Ilinois - we usually just have tornadoes) I've not seen him yet, but most everybody has (really little town!) So, while I'm gone, Iris Marie, BLOOM!!!

Wow Karen, it sure is frustrating

I remember the first and so far only flowers on my H archiboldiana doing that - of course it didn't help me that I photographed it every week for the two months it took to go from nubbly bud to flower....

Can't wait to see your Iris Marie flower!!!

I'd be tempted to "pop" it with a pin lol. Not really but it does make you want to do that.

My multiflora did that to me. I felt i waited months to see the buds open. It was really only weeks. ^_^

Hummm let's see....cv. Iris Marie bloom or Matt Damon....hard one!
MATT DAMON!!

I'm voting for Matt Damon, too! Your Iris Marie will bloom again. Matt may not come back to town again.

Take photos either way!

Oooh ... I'm an old lady but I vote for Matt Damon too!

I did get very close to where they were filming, but was unwilling to get out of my car to see him....now if it was Brad Pitt....LOL

BTW, STILL no bloom!! Geesh...

Congratulations Karen,

It's beautiful! It was worth the wait.

Good job, Karen! I have a huge 'Iris Marie' that grows like a weed and has never flowered, even once.
