I am very BEGINNER to container gardening (and flower gardening in general)! I am basically looking for any advice on how/where to start. I do not have much room in my backyard, so I'm starting with container gardening on the back porch rather than attempting to start a flower garden which would basically take up the whole backyard. Does anyone have any book suggestions or really any suggestions would be helpful to me at this point! I am in Lexington, KY, Zone 6.
Thanks so much!

Pick up any of the gardening magazines and you'll find suggestions, pictures, etc. Further, if you have access to your local county extension agent they usually have a supply of brochures and/or reference books to help.
I'm a newbie too and recently found some things to look at. There are some threads on this board with some awesome pictures - very inspiring. Also try the Fine Gardening magazine website (http://www.taunton.com/finegardening/). They've got some good articles about how to put the plants together, potting, etc. and pictures to inspire you.
Try Barnes & Noble website and Container Gardening. They have some great books on the subject and that is where I got mine.
I'm new to container gardening as well and found a lot of great ideas at Proven Winners. http://www.provenwinners.com/combinations/ I plan to use several of their combinations this year.
