chocolate mint

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Hello all...

My neighbor just bought a chocolate mint plant from Lowe's. Alas, when I got there, they were all gone...there was a sale on them. Haven't been able to find them anywhere. I don't want to start from seed, I want a plant. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get one?

YEP-Maybe your neighbor will let you have a couple slips to start off his.It will root easily,& nipping off the long growth helps the mint plants to bush out.

it's such a small plant, I wouldn't want to ask. But thanks so much. I am going to keep hunting the stores......

I have lots of chocolate mint and will be digging some up this coming week (whenever it stops raining). I'd be glad to trade with you, or send it to you. They root very easily. Vicki

Well, I would be happy to trade a plant, but I don't know the first thing about shipping plants. I have maters, eggplants, and peppers. I also have lots of seeds.

Why don't you d-mail me the seeds you have, and your address. What are maters? Vicki

Vicki...

maters are tomatoes. Sorry, that's my little nickname for them! :o)

I will dmail you what seeds I have when I get home from work this afternoon.

Noobie,
Did you d-mail me? Just wondering if it got lost, for I haven't heard. Vicki

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner! Noobie, I'll be bringing a big bag of chocolate mint to Becky's next weekend... if you can't make it to the swap, you're welcome to swing by anytime and dig a clump... or I can send you some. I realize you and Vicki may already be working out a trade, but figured I'd still offer since my mint patch was closer... not that mint cares much about being shipped! I even sent some to Canada a couple years ago in a bubble envelope, and it did OK after taking quite a while to arrive. :-)

I put the mint into the mail on Friday, so it is on it's way Noobie. I hope it makes it safe and sound. Vicki

Oh, good! I haven't seen her posting on the organization thread for the swap, so I'm guessing she won't be there, and I'm not sure when/if I'll manage to cross paths with her... I'm glad she's getting her mint!

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

what swap? what swap?! Sorry I was away from DG for a few days. VJ....thank you soooo much! I will be sending you a dmail with the types of seeds I have. Let me know what you want and give me your address and I will send it on its way!

Critter....you are such a sweetie. I'm a plant junkie so I wouldn't mind at all if you sent some along too! :o) I keep buying plants even though my garden is FULL! :o)

Noobie! Run, don't walk LOL over to the MidAtlantic forum and check out the threads Bec_No_Va has posted about the swap she's hosting on the 24th (next Saturday). It would be stunningly wonderful if you could join us!
