Last night I moved all the month old chicks and the 4x6 kennel from the living room to my office. Teen had a date and was embarrased??? whats that all about??
Anyway, this morning, the 7 silkies are all acting like crazed roosters!! chest butts.. pecking anything that comes near them... they are just plain ole nasty today... I took the worst offender (paula) and gave her a bath... (or might it be paul and a cold shower) Actually she needed one and it was a good op to show control and get her out of there.
What should I do for the day.. egnore and let them figure the pecking order, noone is bleeding yet.. with paula gone they settled for about 15 mins then started up again.. but seem to have settled again, but I haven't returned her...
Oh,, chicken Momdum...
Silkie War
Now why on earth would a kennel full of chicks be embarrasing to a teen? LOL
I'd probably let them work out the pecking order.
Give then a treat of oats or something. Maybe that will take their mind off fighting one another for a while.
give the teenage a cold shower, and buy new toys for the chicks!
someone here had goo dluck with shiny things, marbles, costume jewelry, but they could be at an age where they need larger things to chase. borrow something form the teenagers room??? a favorite shirt???
tf
hahaha... she has a "bling" shirt.. every time she goes near them they attack her... hmmm whats allowed here chestieeees.. we say they just want to be breast-fed chicks..
Today I gave them a few extra frozen (thawed) peas... oh the fun...
and then they napped.. segregated... all the silkies in a pile all others on the roosts.. I thought most of the silkies were the roosters.. maybe they are lying in wait..
