I found one at a strawberry farm yesterday and bought it because it smelled like Basil, but it was so tiny and cute.
Is that all it's good for? It tastes almost lemony (is that a word) and a little bit bitter.
Has anyone tried 'Pistou' Basil?
I'm thinking that Critterologist grows this.
You're right, but it's my first year trying it... got some shared seeds in a trade! It's not big enough yet to pass judgment on. :-)
I do like 'Minette' for a small leafed, compact basil that's pretty tasty. I've been growing it for several years now. 'Pistou' is described as an "improved version" -- we'll see!
Ah, it will be nice to see the "Basil Queen's" review!
Oh dear, am I getting a reputation? Over on the pepper forum last year, somebody dubbed me the "pepper madam" LOL!
Nannie is it really bright green or is that just the lighting? I haven't got a bright green one YET so if so I need it just for the colour alone.
thanks. It's now on my MUST HAVE list ^_^
dahlia, that should read your "must have or DIE" list.
:D
o Mrs Ed that's another list that I create on the spot when I see the actual plant in the garden centre, otherwise known as "a purchase for medicinal purposes" although I haven't figured out to use it as a tax write off yet ^_^ It sorta works like the "free money" theory which was a brilliant invention by anon. gardener.
LMAO! Nice. Medical purposes!
