I am not sure on this But I needed to transplant and AV and when I was taking out the dirt and changing I found this It has roots on it its dark Could it be a Rhizome or is it part of the stem? Can I plant it? I read a Sticky from Keyring but it did not mention African Violet only the Family So this might just be the stem of the AV. will send 2 pictures

Dimmer/Kim: It looks to me llike a section of roots and crown of an AV that has lost all of it's foliage. I would pot it up and put it under the lights and wait to see which AV it turns out to be! I have a couple that have died down like that (from lack of proper care on my part.)
I'm wondering how it got in the pot if you were re-potting another AV. Maybe a former AV that you had forgotten about?
Will be fun to see what it is? Bug or plant, ha!
