Wanted to make sure you'd all seen this. A very interesting survey that ranks hummer feeders in terms of ease of filling, ease of cleaning, durability and, most importantly attractiveness to hummers. Here's the story... in it find where it says "download the comparison chart."

Hummingbird feeder survey
Hi Judy, Thanks for the link!
Isn't the download just for large capacity feeders though?
I don't know what you mean, Pelle... there's 15 or so reviewed in various shapes, from soda bottle, to drip to saucers... Most of the ones I have are on there...
Okay thanks! I thought they were all 16oz. and up.

For the record, the wide-mouth large capacity feeders, such as the Perky Pet 220, are much easier to keep clean than the feeders with small openings. Too, I have found that there is much less fighting over the larger feeders. But just because a feeder might hold 48 oz. doesn't mean you have to fill it completely. I initially fill them with only 8-10 oz. Cleaning and refilling isn't a chore, and my hummers love the Perky Pets. Both of those factors are important when we are putting out 2 gallons of nectar a day during high summer!
I thought the survey findings were interesting because I've seen the same kind of activity at my feeders as descibed in the story on some of the same feeders. Particularly the Perky Pet ones.
I don't fill my feeders more than about an inch or so until the little buggers REALLY start feeding. I'd rather keep it in the fridge and refill when necessary than pour it down the drain.
I do wish there'd been something about whether or not the feeders had problems with dripping... I can't stand when my feeders do that. Some of the really pretty glass ones with the spout and rubber stop on the end, I stay away from because, while pretty, I just KNOW they have to leak and be a mess.
I know what you mean. Last year, I was given a lovely S&H or Aud. glass globe feeder with one port/rubber tip. Drip, drip, drip. I had hung it outside the kitchen window as a reminder of the gift-giver, and I nearly went nuts! Like the last pair of high heels I threw away, '.....but darn, they looked so good.'
LOL, thats a true statement Mima!
Thanks so much for the link Judy. It was a great read & since I'm in the market for a new feeder very timely for me. I'm leaning towards the Perky Pet 220 Grand Master.
