What am I ?

Longboat Key, FL

I am not like the GF's who hang around here. I prefer eating this lichen to the juicy passiflora which the GF's like.

Help

Fly, it kinda sorta looks like an Imperial Moth cat, but I don't see the spines behind the head and there's some other things that don't quite look right, and I haven't heard of one that is able to type LOL
Here's a pic of one:

Maybe someone else will know.

Is it actually eating the lichen?

Fly~

OK You win. I finally took it off of the keyboard, and took over, myself.

The dots look different, and it certainly doesn't have those claw-like feet.

(How can you tell which end is the head from your link?)

Nope -- I think that it's close -- but no cigar.

(I hope it's a butterfly, and not a moth, anyhow.)

Be well

The head is on the left with the spines, and the other end has that weird shape.

I'll look some more...hey..... moths are cool! Especially the silk moths.

Spotted Oleander Caterpillar Moth (Empyreuma affinis)

I got some help from "Bug Guide." It is a great site. I got the response almost immediately from one of its readers.

I should have guessed. Right adjacent is a big hedge of oleander -- and, sure enough, I discovered many of the little guy's relatives, chomping away in it.
