Hi folks,I need your opinions.I bought this strep at a convention a few months ago.The name tag said Hey Mei
http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/tableh.html
But when I got it home I found another name tag that said strep Diana
http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/tabled.html
I know it's not Hey Mei and it does look like Diana but with so many look alikes should I label it Diana or as a NOID.
Need your help please,
Good morning Jannich..Thats so pretty..well if it looks like Diana and one of the tags said Diana you can *probably* be pretty sure it is actually Diana...lol..but I definitely know what you mean..having 2 different tags.. If it were mine I would feel exactly the same way.. I couldn't say for positive it was actually what the tag said ..I am weird that way too..lol..if I'm not 100% sure I just won't put a name on it.You are right about so many look alikes. Nothing upsets me like *purchased* plants labeled wrong...lol..especially if a person has to pay good money for that special name...I bought one once with a watermelon wine tag on it and it bloomed white with pink streaks..lol..still a pretty noid but definitely not watermelon wine :o
I read somewhere that you can put a name like " Diana / NOID" or vice a versa if your pretty sure what it is but don't want to make a definitive ID.
I ordered some streps from an eBay vendor last fall and they all matched their names except one when they bloomed. One was marked Surprise Party but bloomed a very light pink? Not even close! I will say he included it as the free gift, so I'm thinking he wasn't positive on it's label either!! LOL

Thanks for you opions ladies.
I emailed the vendor I bought it from with the picture and was told it was Diana. So I guess I will leave the name on it.But theres still a question in my head not knowing for sure.Name or no name I like it and its compact one too.Even big vendors make mistakes! LOL.Thanks!
I have had many plants mislabeled from Ken's Hill Country African Violet. He doesn't make mistakes on african violets but all his streps come from Lyndon Lyons and he gets those mixed up often. Many times I have to wait until they bloom and try to figure out what they are.......at least I can just go through the Lyndon Lyons offerings.
