Here is a question about clay Pots

I know that you are not to use Clay pots because they dry up pretty fast when watered but There is a paint out that you can spray them any color. My store had 4,6,8 inch pots cheep and I got a brunch of them were talking 29 cent a pot so I did have to get them. And I do have that paint do you think that if I sprayed them it wood work? what do you think

Hi Dimmer, I did a quick search as I knew I had read about sealing the inside of the clay pots so that you can plant in them and have everything go well. This is talking about planting outside stuff in them but I would think it would work for you inside plants too. Here is a cut and paste from what I read....

"I seal the inside and the outside with acrylic clear spray paint (El Cheapo walmart brand). I usually put about 4-5 coats on the inside, and 2-3 on the outside. If the pot grows annuals, I'll clean the pot out at the end of the year, and repeat the process. However, I haven't had to reseal the inside pots, and one has been going strong for 4 years now. This has worked for me for many years."

Sounds like a great bargain you found there!

I use the clay pots and never had much of a problem with the AV until I changed pots to ceramic. I like clay pots and I know that I am most likely alone.
