I just go Hoya Chelsea in the mail today. Does anyone know what the blooms look like?
Hoya Chelsea
I think this is a form of carnosa- the flowers are probably the same or similar (fuzzy and pale pink).
I would reckon they look like H. carnosa.... or the H. carnosa family. I think i remember reading that H. carnosa 'chelsea' is a sport or seedling of H. carnosa cv. 'Krinkle 8'. Please try to remember to write thename correctly to anyone you pass your cuttings on to...it will keep the taxonomy straight!!!!! LOL...there is so much confusion!!!
Thanks for the info Mark and Carol. I could not find very much info on the net about it.
Oooh, me likee much much!!
I like the leaves on that one. I searched around on the web and couldn't
find hardly any info on it either. Anyone know anymore about it ?
I couldn't find anyone that sells it either....

I received a Hoya carnosa chelsea cutting in a trade a few months ago and haven't been able to find any information about it either.
I just searched again and see someone on e-bay has one for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/HOYA-CARNOSA-CHELSEA-NEW-VARIETY-OF-H-CARNOSA_W0QQitemZ160228770262QQihZ006QQcategoryZ1510QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
I will be curious to see what the bloom color is ... but it will be a long time before my little guy blooms!
Lin...ignore it...be cruel to it and it will bloom.
I put a 'krinkle 8" out to grow up a tree in a very shady part under a huge Fiddle leaf Fig. It gets almost no rain...no fert and it blooms all year round. My mom used to say:
Treat them rough and tell them nothing - this was her view of relationships...I use it for hoyas..... LOL
LOL - Carol, I would have liked your Mom! Maybe that's my problem...! That's hilarious!
LOL Carol ... Thanks for that bit of info. The chelsea should be right at home here! I have found that all of my plants seem to thrive better on neglect. I used to kill them with kindness, or what I thought was kindness ... over watering was a huge problem. Now, I forget plants that are hiding behind other plants and when I find them wonder how in the world they are still alive. Sometimes they thrive despite my efforts. I hear people saying all the time they don't have a green thumb or they are all brown thumbs and fingers and they can't grow anything. I always tell them a little neglect goes a long way when it comes to plants!
