Hi, new to this forum

Hi, Just what I need another forum added to my favs!lol
Just wanted to introduce myself first before I popped in on any discussions.
You can find me most of the time on the Northeast forum or the midatlantic forum(among some others) but I decided to branch out and add this to my favs.
I LOVE flowers, blossoms etc that have a pleasant fagrance. One of the main things I look for when buying. For instance, these cherry blossoms are gorgeous but don't smell at all what's the deal with that?????
My backyard is a blank slate and the rest of the gardens needed serious work when we moved in almost 4 years ago. Slowly but surely it's getting there. So you'll def be seeing me around.

Hi Jen! Welcome to the forum! I love your cherry blossoms, those are really pretty. Too bad they don't smell equally nice! I think a lot of times when they breed things specially for their pretty flowers, often the fragrance gets lost along the way. For fragrance you're usually better off going back to older varieties, the flowers might not be quite as beautiful but you'll get the fragrance back.

Hey there Jen...welcome over "here" as well...things should be picking up now that the weather's a tad warmer for most...gets a tad quiet during the colder months...always like to welcome another fragrance connoisseur to the group!! ^_^

Flowerjen, I totally agree with you. You know what upsets me? When I go smell a beautiful rose, and there is absolutely no fragrance! What's the point, right?

That makes no sense whatsoever, a rose that doesn't smell... phooey!

Ya'll are too kind...not sure how much help I am...can only say doing on to others as has been done/shown to me over the past few years....DG, without hesitation, has the most awesome generous group of folks any where....
