Thank you

Okay, I'll bite. What's an epi? I've heard of epi pens, single shot epinephrine for severe allergy situation, but other than that, I'm racking my brain for what an epi connected to gardening might be.

Epiphyllum?

Like an Orchid Cactus, I think? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/episetc/all/

We have one (don't know what kind it is), but I don't know where to buy one. This place looks well recommended and the reviews mention cacti... Maybe you can call and ask if they have some? http://davesgarden.com/products/go/view/2690/

A friend bought one for me last spring at Maas Nursery, but it's in Seabrook. It's a great nursery though and you can always have lunch or dinner after at the boardwalk in Kemah.

Yes, epi -----> epiphyllum

Camquat ~ you might look for a DGr that will share cuttings. It may not be as gorgeous at first but there is a large satisfaction in knowing you received your start from another generous gardener and grew it yourself.

Have you been to the Orchid cactus forum? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/episetc/all/

You might also put out a request on the plant trading forum. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/planttrading/all/

You might click on those links and see what turns up... good luck ~ pod

If you are interested in Epiphyllum strictum, I trimmed mine yesterday, and I have several leaves that would make a pot full of cuttings. Let me know....

Don't you guys ever sleep? LOL Pretty bloom photos!

I have one that I cut back hard every year so it is small and nothing to share. I think the foliage is gangly and awkward but the bloom? Lovely!

If you would like a start of it, let me know and I'll keep you in mind when I whack it back!

I just saw two mini epis for sale at Joshua's Nursery and there was one with the big white flowers for sale at Another Place in Time. It was hanging behind the counter and someone was asking about it, so it may already have sold.
