Named Siberian Iris

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I have dug up some plants and would like to trade off the extras. I'm looking for named Siberian iris. I'm not real fond of the bearded types because they rot here in my clay soil. I might be persuaded to trade for some SDB tho since they seem to be hardier.

I have to trade

Annick (a shorter sib good for the front of the border)
Orville Faye
Roku Oji
Teal Velvet

I realize it's not ideal digging time for irises. I'm willing to wait until after bloom season for plants if it's more convenient.

For many years we traveled to MMA where my DH taught a summer course. Each year I would buy some of the lovely McEwen siberians. I would love to trade with you. We are visiting our son and his family in KY and will be back in NY the first of next week. I'll take a look and see what I have available at that time. I have a digital camera so I can take pics as they bloom. If you have already dug your extras, please be sure to pot them up to reduce stress. Thank you for offering. Mittsy

Got back to NY and walked the gardens yesterday. Looks like most of the sibs made it through the winter ok. A few heaved out of the ground and I will have to replant as soon as I am feeling better. I managed to get through the entire winter without getting sick only to get bronchitis from my last babysitting of my granddaughters. I hate being sick, I'm a terrible patient and I like to be "busy" outside, not resting inside.

Sorry to hear you are sick, Mittsy. Hope you get well soon. Relax and take care of yourself.

A big Hello to all my ol' Buddies! It's good to see ya' Chele, Kristi, and Brenda. I'm still around but have put gardening on the back burner these days. I still do some - but got over the uncontrollable, compulsive, plant collecting obsession - lol. I scaled down to tough-as-nails perennials interspersed with the tried and true annuals. That's about all I can handle anymore.

Hope you gals have all been okay. It's nice to see ya.
