Friendly Brug Visitor

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

There's lots of life amongst my brugs these days. The Anoles and the frogs help to keep the caterpillars at bay in the garden. Here is one of my buddies this morning on the prowl for a nice meal. As much as I would like to help him out I hope he doesn't find any caterpillars in my yard. :}

that's adorable X thanks for sharing. BTW I need to send you pics of the seedlings that you gave me. They're getting really big. Something bit one of Delisa's seedlings in half. I stuck the bit off part in the dirt but I don't think it's going to help.

Anne the next time you get a seedling break in half you should dip the top half in a rooting hormone first. Even something like Rootone, that can be bought in any plant store or even most supermarkets will do the trick.

Yeah I have some, but it was late and dark and it must have happened much earlier in the day bec. it was very wiltedy. So I just did what I could at the time. I prob. should have brought it in and put it in water until I could take care of it properly. Anyway although the cut part looks bad, the main part still looks ok. I'm hoping that it will be ok. Some of each of y'alls seeds grew quickly and strong, some others like this one are still very small a year later. We're having storms today so I can't get out and take pictures but will as soon as I can. I have some dat seedlings going too and something knocked over 2 of the pots and dumped out the contents. I have several stray cats and a possum living on my porch so no telling which of them is doing the damage. This next weekend I'm going to move the smaller things to the west side of the porch under the arbor. We've had such strong winds that I've been keeping them on the north side where there was at least a little protection. The wind tore up the leaves on one of yours and another that was a cutting from one of mine. I'm thinking of creating a bed on the southeast side of my yard and planting these and some other larger ones out there. It may be later on in the year. I'm rambling lol.

I love that photo! I just received tadpoles from another DGer near me... and I cant wait til I have froggies in my garden! They are probably going to be lil tree frogs... but I think they are adorable... well as long as they are not jumping out and scaring me!

BerkeleyAnnie you are so close to me! I live in Fremont, but work in Piedmont.... :o) nice to finally see some more locals on DG lol!

I am new to Brugs.. I have 6 cuttings that I am trying to root (no luck yet) and 5 of becky's seedlings have sprouted!! whoo hoo... so hoping to have one of every color in my garden someday :o)
