how to get plumies to bloom?

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

my are about 5 years older and not once bloomed. they are abouit root bound in their pots maybe a problem i dont know. all started from seed.

so what do i do to get them to bloom? they are just now coming out of dormancy since sticking outside last weekend. thanks

Especially seedlings may take some years to bloom. You do need to give them plenty of room to grow though, so I would suggest stepping them up to the largest pot you have.

I agree with Hetty. I have quite a few 5-year-old seedlings that haven't bloomed yet, and they are in 15-gallon containers but really need 25-gallon containers. Seedlings do take a lot of patience to grow, and when they bloom, the flower could look like anything and could even be inferior. I recommend repotting, as Hetty said, and also fertilizing heavily this summer.
