I have just repotted a splitleaf philo and wondered if I did the right thing. It had two extremely long above the potting soil "roots? I wound them around in the pot and covered with soil. Should I have done differently?

Sounds like what you did will be fine for the plant. Those long roots were looking for the soil, and you just brought the soil to them!
