This is what the younger leaves look like. Odd to me how the older leaves have that amazing purple hue and extremely shiny, while younger leaves do not.

This plant is in a highly variable group known as the longiloba group of Alocasias. Because of the variability, it is near impossible to nail down a species name for them. Some cultivars have been propagated and put on the market, while others have been distributed by collectors.

I got it from Rita's aka Randolph Nurseries if that helps. She said to grow it in dry shade. I love it, even if it has no name. Thanks for your help LariAnn.
