Okay my pups are about 7 years old and have not grown much. I know my indoor home is not ideal but I'd really like to see some of them flower. All but one looks very healthy. I have tried the apple gas, and the epsom salt options. Is there anything else I should be doing? I fertilize 1 x every 6 weeks with miracle grow. I don't know what variety they are. I live in Zone 3 so mine are inside. I love them and I'd love to have more but I don't feel worthy to buy more if I can't even get these to bloom. Your gardens are so beautiful- especially all those outside. We are 37 and wet and very cold up here still. Some day I will have a nice outdoor garden with Bromies in it~ I would sincerely appreciate any advice. The best two are in the entry-way where it's always chillier and drafy but they seem to like it there???. Thaks in advance
? on flowering?
Its very hard to say why they are not blooming, without knowing what type you have.
Some take up to 10 years to flower, and some have quite insignificant flowers and the display is more to do with leaf colour.
There is alot of discussion about fertilising bromeliads, and wether it helps with flowering or not. Is it possible for you to post a pic of your plants? It may help to identify what type they are.
Its a great credit to you that you have managed to grow them for 7 years with cold wet weather. Maybe thye need some warmth and humidity to flower? Its a mystery.
Is there anyone else out there with some input?
