This is the most unique of the tacsonias that I've grown, with its malformed center. This bloom occurred on a very short vine, which is unusual among my tacsonias, and I wonder whether it's confused or will continue to bloom at a small size.

I can't answer your question, but I LOVE the color of your bloom!
Isint the tacsonias Close Cousins To The Passion Flowers? Paul
Yes, tacsonia is one of the major subdivisions of passion flower, and includes mollissima (banana passionflower), antioquiensis, parritae, exoniensis (itself thought to be a cross) and many others.
Other subgroups include passiflora, decaloba, and astrophea, off the top of my head.
Your flower is absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps you can let us know whether it continues to bloom on a small vine, or if this one was just a fluke? I don't think there's much information on this vine's cultivation out there, so anything you could share with us would be very interesting :-)
