Hi Everyone,
I've recently gotten bitten by the brug bug, and this is my first posting on this forum. I feel so shy. I'm currently in South Korea right now teaching elementary and middle school kids English for the next 2 years, so I know it's going to be hard for me to get trades or SASBEs . Brugs do exist here, but not like they do back in the States. I'm a NJ native who is feeling homesick right now, planted 15 brug seeds - pink suavolens, white arborea, apricot suavolens, yellow suavolens along with a couple seeds of its relative, the datura. Does anyone have seeds to trade? I tried the seed bank at you know where, and they don't ship internationally.
South Korean customs are fine with bubble envelopes and postage costs anywhere from 90 cents to $1.75. Just don't write "Seeds" on the customs form LOL. I've had people do this only to get the envelope sliced opened, inspected, and thankfully, resealed with everything intact. "Garden products" has worked well for me as well as people I've traded with in the US.
I'm looking for brug crosses if possible since I have species, but really, anything would be welcomed. I'm staying with my 82 year old grandma who saw a brugmansia for the first time at a flower market this spring and fell in love with it. I'd love to grow one for her and my relatives who all have green thumbs.
Thanks in advance,
Elizabeth

I have seeds too
Thank you to all who have been so generous about sharing brug seeds with me. I plan to grow them out and keep a close eye on the crosses this year. If anyone else has extra brug seeds to share, my students at my English academy in South Korea would love to try their hand at growing their own brug. I have a beautiful, large sunny window where the kids can start the seeds and take pictures of their brug's progress. Kids here in Korea are very protective about their pets, whether it be a plant or an animal. Of course I will make sure to give credit to the hybridizer if we find a keeper. Just dmail me and let me know how much postage to send. Depending on how many seeds, costs to ship in a bubble mailer from the USA have ranged from 90 cents to $1.47.
Thanks again!
Elizabeth in South Korea
